Name that Exhaust Note

Many different things affect the sound of an exhaust system – from your engine, to your exhaust pipes, and of course your muffler. Some gearheads know cars so well that they can guess a car's make and model just by the sound of it!

For those of you who want to test your own skills, Car and Driver has a fun "quiz" they put up every week…Name that Exhaust Note. A short audio recording captures a car starting its engine, revving, and idling. We love all the different sounds!! Check it out and see if you can recognize any - or just to learn more about the differences. Now we just need to gather a bunch of different Scion's exhaust notes!

They make mufflers as well as exhaust kits for xB, tC, and xD. A performance exhaust system can give a quality sound, performance gains and enhanced fuel economy.
